We are seeking leaders who want to make a difference in our community to run for Board of Education, Town Council, and Constable.
Candidates for municipal office can begin the process by filling out the application. The Nominations Committee will review the application and conduct interviews on June 21 and 24, and July 1. The committee will recommend a slate of candidates in a report to the full Town Committee, which will endorse candidates at its July 10 meeting. These endorsements are recommendations to a caucus of all Windsor Democrats, to be held July 17. If necessary, a primary would be held in September.
Please give us a call at 860-580-9287 if you have any questions about the process or the work of the various offices.
The Nominations Committee will evaluate candidates based on:
- Their readiness to assume the responsibilities and commitments entailed by the office, including offering the necessary time, expertise and experience.
- Their record of leadership in government and in the community.
- Their knowledge of the governance structure of the office sought and the ability to work within that structure.
- Their ability and willingness to work as part of a Democratic team to further and achieve the party’s goals.
- The diversity of experience and expertise within the slate.
- Our commitment to form a slate fully able to represent all the residents of our town.
Applications are due Thursday, June 19.
